Tue-Fri, July 11-14th Severe T’Storm Event Update #5

(10:30AM Wed, July 12th 2023) Wednesday morning update on multiple disturbances that will continue to move through the region through Friday, along the southern flank of a large upper level low in Canada and along the northeastern periphery of a ridge in place across the Desert Southwest/Southern Plains. This pattern will continue to support daily chances for rain/t’storms and severe t’storms across portions of the state during this period.

Update…
•With this update we have slightly adjusted severe t’storm probabilities across portions of the state for today-Thursday morning’s forecast, based on the latest model guidance and real time information.

​Timing & Location…
•This Morning – Thursday Morning, July 12-13th: All of Illinois.
•Friday Afternoon – Friday Night, July 14th: Much of Illinois.

Impacts…
•A level 1 to 2 severe t’storm risk is in place across all of Illinois, from this morning through Thursday morning. Isolated to widely scattered severe t’storms will be likely, posing a risk of damaging wind, large hail and an isolated tornado.
•A severe t’storm risk will exist on Friday as well. More specific information regarding potential these day is to come in future updates.
