Summer 2022 Drought - August 9th Update

8/11/2022

(2:45PM Thursday, August 11th 2022) The latest NOAA drought monitor update valid August 9th, 2022 continues to show portions of Illinois experiencing abnormally dry (D0) to severe drought (D2) conditions. As has been the case over the past month or so, the good news is that drought conditions have improved for many areas across the state, due to periods of beneficial rainfall for some areas over the past month and a half. However, there are still some areas that have missed out on much of beneficial rainfall, thus continue to see drought conditions hold or expand a bit.

The next drought monitor update will be on Aug 18th.
