(6:30AM - 11/8/19) The chances are increasing for a snow event across at least portions of the state, Sunday evening through Monday afternoon.
Model guidance has been wavering the past several days regarding this timeframe, but have recently started to come into better agreement for a snow event from Sunday evening through Monday afternoon. While it’s still a bit too far out to discuss exact snow accumulations, some accumulation looks likely, with several inches being possible for the hardest hit areas. Additionally, lake effect and lake enhancement will be possible for areas of Northeast Illinois near Lake Michigan.
Following the potential snow event, record cold temperatures continue to look likely across the state, for Monday and Tuesday. A snow cover would only help ensure that the cold temps would be likely.
Stay tuned for additional future updates on the potential snow event and likely record cold.
