A large area of precipitation has spread across the state this morning. As expected, precipitation started as snow/mix across Central Illinois, and has been quickly changing over to rain, with only minor snow/mix accumulation having occurred. Across Northern Illinois, most precipitation has been snow/mix thus far. Snow/mix will be likely for a couple hour period north of I-88, before eventually changing over to light rain/drizzle later this afternoon. South of I-88 across Northern Illinois, snow/mix will more rapidly transition over to a mix/rain earlier this afternoon. Upwards of 1-3" of snow/sleet is likely across Northern Illinois, north of I-88, with a dusting to 1" likely south of I-88.
