(3:00PM - 6/9/20) Tropical Depression Cristobal has been moving northward near the Illinois border of Missouri and Iowa today. Cristobal is expected to continue northward, into Wisconsin tonight.
High winds and periods of heavy rain have been occurring across the state today. Upwards of 0.25-1.50" of rain has occurred closer to the Illinois/Missouri border, with lower amounts elsewhere across the state. Additional bands/clusters of showers and isolated t'storms will be likely through Wednesday morning. High winds have also been occurring across much of the state today as well, with wind gusts of 30-55MPH being common thus far. Some tree damage has also been reported in a few areas, such as the Peoria and Kankakee areas. High winds will continue to be possible across the state into tonight, with wind gusts of 35-60MPH being likely, and isolated higher wind gusts possible. Tree damage and power outages will be possible. Lastly, there continues to be a low threat of an isolated severe t'storm across a good portion of the state through late tonight/very early Wednesday morning. Damaging winds and an isolated tornado are the main threats.
