(9:00PM - 3/3/20) A weak and fast moving disturbance will move through the region tonight into Wednesday morning, bringing with it the chance for minor/nuisance accumulating snow.
A weak and fast moving disturbance will move through the region tonight into Wednesday morning. A narrow swath of snow will be likely along and just north of the track of this disturbance, which will potentially start as rain for some areas. Snow will enter Northwest Illinois in the vicinity of midnight, then spreading into the rest of Northern Illinois later tonight. Snow will then continue, before ending around mid-morning Wednesday. A brief period of moderate to even heavy snow will be possible during this time, within the overall period of general snow. Snowfall totals of a dusting to 1.5" will be likely across Northern Illinois. Given the recent mild temperatures and marginal temperatures expected during this event, most efficient accumulation will be on colder surfaces, with less on warmer surfaces...such as roads.
Below is the snowfall forecast for this event.
