(4:15PM - 11/9/19) After a good model battle/disagreements the last few days regarding the evolution of this potential accumulating snow event, model guidance is finally coming into better agreement on what looks to be a fairly impressive snow event for this early in the year.
An updated discussion follows below...
It will be quiet across Illinois during the day tomorrow but attention will turn to the west as model guidance continues to show a developing area of snow across the northern plains tomorrow afternoon and evening. It will then streak eastward into portions of Illinois by tomorrow evening and more so the overnight hours. Across the favored area for snow, snow will continue through the morning hours on Monday, likely leading to a pretty slow commute before snow ends by the early afternoon hours from west to east across northern and central Illinois. Lastly, with winds out of the northeast, there will be some lake enhancement that could aid is slightly higher snowfall totals across portions of northeast Illinois.
