(8:00PM - 1/3/22) 2021 has come to a close, another active year in weather. One aspect that stands out of note from 2021 is temperatures. 2021 will go down as one of the top 10 warmest years on record for Chicago, Rockford and Moline.
For Chicago 2021 was tied for the 5th warmest year on record, tied with 2020 for that mark. This warm mark was attained with the help of the 7th warmest spring on record, the 8th warmest summer on record and the 8th warmest fall on record. In Rockford, 2021 was the 4th warmest year in record. This warm mark was attained with the help of the 5th warmest spring on record, the 5th warmest summer on record and the 8th warmest fall on record. Lastly, for Moline 2021 was the 9th warmest year on record. This warm mark was attained with the help of the 12th warmest summer on record and the 6th warmest fall on record.
