Recap...
•A storm system impacted the state on Monday, Feb 27th, bringing severe t'storms and high winds to the state.
•Isolated to widely scattered severe t'storms affected portions of Central and Northeastern Illinois. 5 confirmed tornadoes occurred, with several reports of damaging winds and large hail logged as well.
•Periods of high winds occurred across much of the state, with wind gusts of of 30-55MPH observed across much of the state. A few isolated higher winds gusts occurred as well.

​​(9:45PM Sun, Feb 26th 2023) Sunday night update regarding a storm system that will move through the region tonight through Monday, bringing the potential for severe t'storms and high winds to portions of the state. With this update we have increased severe t'storm probabilities across the heart of the state, while little to no change was needed with the high wind forecast.

​Timing & Location...
•Severe T'Storm Risk: Early Monday morning - Late Monday morning, Feb 27th: Central & Southern Illinois.
•High Winds: Early Monday morning - Late Monday evening , Feb 27th: Much of Illinois.

Impacts...
•A level 1 to 2 severe t'storm risk is in place across Central and Southern Illinois, from early Monday morning through late Monday morning. Isolated to widely severe t'storms will be possible, posing a risk of damaging winds, hail and an isolated tornado.
•Periods of high winds are expected across much of the state, early Monday morning through late Monday evening. Wind gusts ranging from 35-60MPH are expected across the state.

​(3:00PM Fri, Feb 24th 2023) A brief recap of the storm system that moved through the region Wednesday through Thursday, Feb 22-23rd. This storm system brought multiple modes of weather to the state, including; Severe t'storms, heavy rainfall/flooding, freezing rain and high winds. 

Recap...
•A storm system moved through the region Wednesday through Thursday, Feb 22-23rd, bringing multiple modes of weather to the state.
•A few rounds of isolated to scattered severe t'storms affected portions of Central and Southern Illinois, with a few reports of hail and numerous reports of damaging winds.
•Periods of freezing rain produced to ice accumulation across portions of Northern Illinois, ranging from a glaze to 0.25-0.50". Widespread tree damage and power outages occurred across portions of Northern Illinois, as a result of the ice accumulation.
•Periods of high winds occurred across much of the state, with 30-55MPH wind gusts common.
•Widespread rainfall totals of 0.25-1.50" occurred across much of the state, with a narrow corridor of 2.00-4.00" rainfall totals and localized flooding across portions of Central Illinois.

​(11:00AM Wed, Feb 22nd 2023) Wednesday morning update on the winter storm that will continue to affect the state through Thursday, bringing multiple modes of weather to the state. With this update we have increased the severe t'storm risk expected across Central and Southern Illinois today, as well as increased the expected storm freezing rain ice accumulation across Northern Illinois based on observational trends. All other forecasts needed little to no change.

•Freezing Rain/Sleet/Ice Pellets: Now - Thursday midday, Feb 22-23rd: Far Northern Illinois.

•Heavy Rain/Flooding: Now - Early Wednesday night, Feb 22nd: Northern & Central
