Recap... •A storm system moved through the region Wednesday through Thursday, Feb 22-23rd, bringing multiple modes of weather to the state. •A few rounds of isolated to scattered severe t'storms affected portions of Central and Southern Illinois, with a few reports of hail and numerous reports of damaging winds. •Periods of freezing rain produced to ice accumulation across portions of Northern Illinois, ranging from a glaze to 0.25-0.50". Widespread tree damage and power outages occurred across portions of Northern Illinois, as a result of the ice accumulation. •Periods of high winds occurred across much of the state, with 30-55MPH wind gusts common. •Widespread rainfall totals of 0.25-1.50" occurred across much of the state, with a narrow corridor of 2.00-4.00" rainfall totals and localized flooding across portions of Central Illinois.

With this update we have increased the severe t'storm risk expected across Central and Southern Illinois today, as well as increased the expected storm freezing rain ice accumulation across Northern Illinois based on observational trends. All other forecasts needed little to no change.
