(10:15AM Thur, Nov 24th 2022) The latest NOAA drought monitor update valid November 22nd, 2022 continues to show a large portion of Illinois is experiencing drought conditions, ranging from abnormally dry (D0) to extreme drought (D3) conditions. The most significant drought conditions continue to be across Southern Illinois.
Impacts... •There has been little to no change in drought conditions across the state with this update. •Abnormally dry (D0) to extreme drought (D3) conditions continue across a large portion of the state. •While areal coverage across the state is widespread, the most significant drought conditions continue to be across Southern Illinois. The next drought monitor update will be on December 1st.

(5:00PM Wed, Nov 23rd 2022) A mild and dreary Thanksgiving is on tap for Illinois on Thursday, with high temperatures expected to top out around 50 and into the 50's across the state. With a storm system moving through the region, there will also come the chance for scattered showers across the state much of the day, from morning to night. However, there will be many dry hours, and this will not be a wash out of a day.

(2:45PM Thur, Nov 17th 2022) A storm system moved through the region on Friday and Saturday, Nov 11-12th. This storm system brought with an area of snow, which traversed the southern half of Illinois Saturday morning, Nov 12th. Widespread minor snowfall accumulation occurred, with a localized narrow corridor of heavier snowfall accumulation as well.
Wrap-Up... •As a storm system moved through the region, an associated area of snow traversed the southern half of Illinois Saturday morning, Nov 12th, producing widspread snowfall accumulation. •A surprise localized heavier band of snow developed and sat over a narrow corridor across portions of Southern Illinois. This produced a locally narrow corridor of unexpected higher snowfall totals. •Widespread snowfall totals of a dusting to 2" occurred across much of the southern half of the state, with snowfall totals upwards of 2-5" to 4-7" in the localized heavier snowfall corridor.
