Temperatures will be on the cool side and below average for the time of year, with high temperatures in the 30's to 40's expected from north to south across the state. Dry conditions are expected for much of the day, with a fair amount of sunshine anticipated as well. There is the potential for a few snow flurries or snow showers across portions of the state Friday night.

•Early Saturday afternoon - Monday afternoon, March 11-13th.

Impacts...
•Periods of snow will traverse Northern and portions of Central Illinois, early Saturday afternoon through Monday afternoon. Rain will also be possible at times, due to marginal temperatures.
•Snowfall accumulation will range from upwards of a dusting-2" across Northern and portions of Central Illinois. Locally higher amounts are possible closer to the IL/WI and IL/IA border areas.

•With marginal temperatures, the most efficient snowfall accumulation will be on colder surfaces.

With this update we have adjusted rainfall/flood potential across Southern Illinois based on observations, and have adjusted expected snowfall based on the latest information available. Little to no changes were needed to the severe t'storm & high wind forecasts.

•Severe T'Storm Risk: This morning - Early this afternoon, March 3rd: Southern Illinois.
•Snowfall: Late this morning - Late this evening, March 3rd: East-Central Illinois.
•High Winds: This morning - Early tonight, March 3rd: Central & Southern Illinois.
•Heavy Rain/Flooding: This morning- Early tonight, March 2-3rd: Central & Southern Illinois.

Impacts...
•A level 1 to 3 severe t'storm risk is in place across Southern Illinois, from through early this afternoon. Isolated to scattered severe t'storms are likely, posing a risk of damaging winds, hail and an isolated tornado.
•Snow will be possible across portions of East-Central Illinois, late this morning through late this evening. Snow accumulation ranging from a dusting-1" to 1-3" is possible.
•Periods of high winds are expected across Central and Southern Illinois, through early tonight. Wind gusts of 35-60MPH are expected.
•Widespread heavy rainfall is expected across Central and Southern Illinois, through this evening. Rainfall totals upwards of 1.00-5.00" are expected in the heavy rainfall axis. Localized to widespread flooding is expected.

​​​(11:30PM Thur, March 2nd 2023) A winter storm will move through the region tonight through Friday, bringing multiple modes of weather to the state. With this update we have increased severe t'storm probabilities across portions of Southern Illinois, increased expected rainfall totals and flooding potential across portions of Southern Illinois, and have slightly increased high wind gust potential across portions of Central and Southern Illinois. Little to no changes were needed to the snowfall forecast.

•Severe T'Storm Risk: Early Friday morning - Early Friday afternoon, March 3rd: Southern Illinois.
•Snowfall: Friday morning - Early Friday night, March 3rd: Northern Illinois.
•High Winds: Early Friday morning - Early Friday night, March 3rd: Central & Southern Illinois.
•Heavy Rain/Flooding: Tonight - Early Friday night, March 2-3rd: Central & Southern Illinois.

Impacts...
