This storm system brought with an area of snow, which traversed the southern half of Illinois Saturday morning, Nov 12th. Widespread minor snowfall accumulation occurred, with a localized narrow corridor of heavier snowfall accumulation as well.

(3:00PM Mon, Oct 7th 2022) A storm system moving through the region on Friday and Saturday brought a period of high winds to the state, late Friday night/early Saturday morning through Saturday evening. These high winds were a product of rapidly developing/deepning storm system moving through the region, aiding in a rapidly strengthening wind field at the surface and on aloft into the atmosphere. Additionally, a line of showers along a cold front moving across the state on Saturday transported isolated higher wind gusts to the surface.
Wrap-Up... •A period of southeast to southwesterly wind gusts upwards of 40-65MPH occurred across much of the state, from late Friday night/early Saturday morning through Saturday evening. •A line of showers along an advancing cold front moving across the state on Saturday produced locally higher wind gusts of 60-80MPH. •The high winds produced isolated to scattered occurances of tree damage, property damage and power outages.

(7:00PM Fri, Sept 23rd 2022) As a ridge briefly flexed into the Central US, a brief push of hot and somewhat humid conditions occurred across portions of the region and state during a few day period, from Mon Sept 19th through Wed Sept 21st.
Wrap-Up... •This heat wave impacted different portions of Illinois over a few day period, from Mon Sept 19th through Wed Sept 21st. Southern Illinois was the main area of focus however. •Several high temperature records were tied or broken across portions of the state during this period. •Daily high temperatures were well into the 90's for affected areas across the state, with some areas of Southern Illinois topping out near 100 daily. •Somewhat elevated heat index values occurred across affected areas on a daily basis, with peak values of 95-105.

Wrap-Up... •A round of severe t'storm activity occurred across portions of the state on Sunday September 18th, during the evening and night. This activity affected a large portion of the state, generally across portions of Northern and much of Central Illinois. •Damaging winds and large hail were the most common severe weather to have occurred with activity, with some instances of significant (2.00"+) large hail having occurred as well.

The first round occurred Sunday afternoon into early Sunday night August 28th, affecting Northern Illinois. This pattern has featured a few notable heavy rain/flooding events across portions of the state, at the end of July and beginning of August.

This event brought a large corridor of 2-6" rainfall totals and some flooding across Southern Illinois, with a localized area of 6-12" rainfall totals and significant flooding across the St. Louis metro area. -August 1-2nd: Central and Southeastern Illinois. This event brought a corridor of 1-4" rainfall totals and some flooding across portions of Central and Southeastern Illinois, with a localized area of 6-12" rainfall totals and significant flooding across portions of Southeastern Illinois. -August 3-4th: Eastern & Southwestern Illinois. -August 6-8th: Northern Illinois.
