(5:00PM Fri, Dec 23rd 2022) A cold and dry Christmas Eve and Christmas Day are on tap for Illinois, on Saturday and Sunday. On top of the continued cold temperatures and wind chills expected through the Christmas weekend, windy conditions with blowing and drifting snow will continue to be possible on Christmas Eve as well. As we end Christmas weekend, another storm system will move into the region, bringing the chance for snow across portions of the state, Christmas Day night/Sunday night into Monday.
Notes... •Christmas Eve: Cold temperatures and wind chills continue. Windy conditions continue as well, with blowing and drifting snow possible, especially across rural/open areas of the state. •Christmas Day: Dry conditions and continued cold temperatures and wind chills, but a bit less so than previous days. Chances for snow increase Christmas Day/Sunday night across the state.
