(9:30PM - 12/23/20) Christmas Eve and Christmas Day have arrived...The good news is no significant weather is expect, the bad news is there will be no white Christmas anywhere across the state and cold temperatures are expected.
Christmas Eve Forecast... While high temperatures on Christmas Eve will have already occurred shortly after midnight tonight across the state...High temperatures during the day on Christmas Eve will generally be in the 10's across Northern Illinois, upper 10's to low 20's across Central Illinois and low to mid 20's across Southern Illinois. Low temperatures Christmas Eve night will drop into the single digits across Northern Illinois, to the single digits to low 10's across Central Illinois, to the 10's across Southern Illinois. Wind chills will get down sub-zero at times across Northern and Central Illinois, and the single digits across Southern Illinois. Additionally, snow flurries or scattered snow showers will be possible at times across Northern Illinois, from tonight through Christmas Day morning...But no accumulation is expected.

Another cold day is expected for Christmas day, with high temperatures in the 20's expected for a large portion of the state. Low temperatures for the day will occur Christmas morning, with single digits across Northern Illinois, single digits to low 10's across Central Illinois, to the 10's across Southern Illinois. Wind chills Christmas morning will once again be sub-zero to the single digits across Northern and Central Illinois, and the single digits across Southern Illinois. Snow flurries or scattered snow showers will be possible across Northern Illinois Christmas morning, but no accumulation is expected.
