​High temperatures across the state on Christmas Eve (Fri, Dec 24th) made it well into the 50's and 60's, with some locations across Western and Southern Illinois having topped out around 70. Several locations across the state tied or broke record high temperatures for the date of Dec 24th.

A storm system moved across the state on Christmas Day (Sat, Dec 25th), ushering in cooler temperatures across the northern half of the state. However, the southern half of the state continued to see mild to warm temperatures, with high temperatures into the 60's and 70's. Several locations across the southern half of the state tied or broke record high temperatures for the date of Dec 25th.
