The main axis of snow will move into Northwest and Western Illinois around mid-day today, with snow spreading into much of Northern and Central Illinois this afternoon. This period of snow will last several hours, eventually ending from west to east tonight. Snow intensity with this event will remain light, with snowfall accumulations across the heart of the state ranging from 1-3".
Further north, snow showers or light snow is possible this afternoon into tonight across far Northern Illinois, near the Illinois/Wisconsin border. Further south, snow showers or light snow is possible across this evening into later tonight across portions of Central Illinois, near of I-72. Across these two areas, snowfall accumulations will likely only be a dusting.
