(10:00PM - 6/4/20) A storm system moving through the region will bring the chance for severe t’storms to portions of the state on Friday.
Synopsis... A complex scenario is expected for Friday, with a lower confidence forecast, and the forecast outcome for the day revolving around what happens with activity overnight tonight on into Friday morning. As of now...It looks possible that scattered showers and t'storms will move southeast across portions of Northern and Central Illinois Friday morning into early afternoon. Isolated severe t'storms will be possible with this activity, with damaging winds and large hail being the main threats. In the wake of this early day activity, it is possible that additional scattered showers and t'storms will develop Friday afternoon, along and head of a cold front sweeping across the state and/or any outflow boundary left over from early day activity. This activity would then push southeast across the heart of the state through Friday evening. Isolated severe t'storms would also be possible with this activity, with damaging winds and large hail will be the main threats. It is possible higher severe t’storm probabilities maybe be needed in future outlooks, if confidence and/or potential severity increase. Below is the severe t'storm forecast for this event.
