(11:00AM Fri, March 31st 2023) Friday morning update on a storm system that will move through the region today, bringing a severe t'storm outbreak to the state and region. With this update we have upgraded portions of the state to a level 4 severe t'storm risk, expanded the level 3 severe t'storm risk a bit, as well as expanded significant severe t'storm probabilities. Confidence has increased in a widespread ans significant severe t'storm event for today.
Timing... •Early this afternoon - Early tonight, March 31st. Location... •All of Illinois. Impacts... •A level 2 to 4 severe t'storm risk is in place across all of Illinois, from early this afternoon through early tonight. •Widely scattered to numerous severe t'storms are likely, posing a risk of damaging winds, large hail and tornadoes. •Environmental conditions will be supportive of the possibility of a few strong/long track tornadoes, occurrences of damaging winds gusts 75MPH+/corridors of wind damage and occurrences of large hail to 2"+.
