(8:30PM - 7/26/20) A short duration period of hot and humid conditions continues to affect the state and region, and will continue to through Monday.
Summary.... A strong ridge briefly built into the region this weekend, allowing for a brief push of hot and humid conditions. While this was not a heat wave by our standards, it has been noteworthy enough to discuss. The most widespread hot and humid conditions were on Saturday and today across the state, with conditions tempering for Monday as a “cold” front moves across the state.
Forecast For Tomorrow...
Monday, July 27th Forecast... High temperatures will range from the low 80's to low 90's across the state. Heat index values will be in the low 80’s to mid 90’s across the state. Low temperatures in the low 60's to mid 70's will be common across the state. A “cold” front moving across the state will usher in cooler temperatures and lower humidity, along with the chance for scattered showers and t’storms.

Heat index values were in the low 90's to mid 100's across the state. Low temperatures in the mid 60's to mid 70's were common across the state. Scattered showers and t’storms moved into portions of Northern Illinois Sunday evening, tempering the heat for some areas.
