Model guidance has been showing the potential for this event for the past several days, with some disagreement regarding placement of the snowfall axis and snowfall amounts. Periods of snow will spread across portions of Northern and Central Illinois, late Friday morning through Saturday evening. Across Northeast Illinois near Lake Michigan, some lake effect/enhancement to the snow is likely to occur. What's Expected... Final snowfall totals upwards of 1-3" are expected in an axis across portions of Northern and Central Illinois, with locally higher amounts possible. Below is the snowfall forecast for this event.
