Periods of snow will spread across Northern and Central Illinois, early Friday afternoon through Saturday evening. Some periods of moderate to heavy snow will be possible at times during this period, especially if banding can develop. Across Northeast Illinois near Lake Michigan, some lake effect/enhancement to the snow is likely to occur. What's Expected... Final snowfall totals upwards of 2-5" are expected in corridor across portions of Northern Illinois, with amounts tapering with southward extent into Central Illinois.
