Summary... A storm system will move through the region today through Saturday, bringing periods of snow and another snow event to Northern and portions of Central Illinois. Model guidance continues to be in good agreement regarding the track of the disturbance and location of the snowfall axis...However, over the past 12-24 hours there has been a drying trend in model guidance. Thus, we have cut expected snowfall totals down a bit for some areas with the forecast update last night and no with this new update.

Periods of snow will spread across Northern and portions Central Illinois, late this afternoon through Saturday evening. If some banding can develop, a few periods of moderate to heavy snow will be possible....Otherwise most of this event will feature light snow. What's Expected... Final snowfall totals upwards of 1-3" is expected across Northern Illinois, with a corridor of 2-5" totals expected in the vicinity of I-80. Snowfall amounts will taper with southward extent into Central Illinois. Below is the snowfall forecast for this event.
