(7:00PM - 1/13/19) The major snowstorm that has been affecting the state this weekend is finally set to exit the region, with the last remnants of snow exiting Southeast Illinois at this time.
This storm produced heavy snowfall totals of 12-16" across portions of West-Central Illinois on west into Eastern Missouri, with even some totals near 20" having occurred across Eastern Missouri. This was a historic storm for some of those areas. Outside of this, widespread snowfall totals of 6-12" occurred across much of Central and portions of Southern Illinois. Across far Southern Illinois and Northern Illinois totals tapered to less than 6"
Below is a map representation of final snowfall totals across the state and adjacent areas.
Below are our TAM forecasts and verification for this storm. The image on the left was our TAM issued at approximately 1PM on Friday afternoon, our final update before the storm started across the state. The image to the right is our TAM issued Friday night while the storm was ongoing, an update with additional model guidance and observations taken into account. Each star is a snowfall report overlaid on our given TAM forecasts. There are some reports that are old from during the storm included, but many reports are near final or final totals.
