(7:30PM - 1/23/19) A bit late due to the recent active winter weather pattern, but a short post storm wrap up on regarding the Fri-Sun, Jan. 18-20th Winter Storm that affected much of the state...
This storm produced two waves of accumulating snowfall, with lake effect snow on the backside of the system. Final snowfall totals with the first wave were 4-8" across Northern Illinois, with lower totals of 2-5" across portions of Central Illinois. The second wave of snow dropped 2-7" of snow across Southern Illinois. Lake effect snow also occurred across portions of Northeast Illinois near Lake Michigan on the backside of the storm system, where an additional 1-4" occurred depending on location.
Below is a map representation of final snowfall totals across the state and adjacent areas.
