(10:30PM - 1/10/20) As expected, a large and widespread area of heavy rain and t'storms is spreading across the region and state tonight. This activity is expected to continue overnight and into tomorrow morning, slowly ending from west to east with time. Rainfall totals from this evening through tomorrow morning will be widespread 1-4" across the state, locally 2-5" for hardest hit areas of Central and Southern Illinois.
Some flooding is already occurring for some areas. With the continued heavy rain, additional flooding is likely across the state. The highest flood potential will be across portions of Central and Southern Illinois, where 1-3" of rain already occurred Thursday night into this morning.
