Storm chasing has gained popularity in recent years. What was once an obscure hobby mostly dominated by true weather geeks, scientists and social misfits who wanted to document storms has blossomed into large congregations - sometimes TOO large - of people clogging the roads each year - to see a tornado. Advances in technology and model forecasts have made it easier than ever to chase storms, but is this a good thing?

Adam Lucio, co-founder of Illinois Storm Chasers, along with Chicago-based Limitless Light Productions have launched a new web series that showcases the REAL world of storm chasing. Storm chasing shows and documentaries are nothing new, but so far have yet to focus on what 99% of storm chasing actually entails, from the perspective of the common chaser.

"Season of the Storm" which debuted on February 1st, has already received praise from the storm chase community and members of the general public alike.

"I've always enjoyed storm chasing shows in the past and wished there more of them. When they (Limitless Light) approached me about this I was excited. They wanted to showcase REAL storm chasing, without fake production drama, which is always one thing I despised about other shows. It didn't take me long to say yes." Adam Lucio said during a press release interview.  Click here to read the full press release.

So how do I watch!?

The series is currently available only through their official website on a vimeo-based on demand platform. The series can be rented for $5.99 which allows 1 week of unlimited viewings or purchased for $10.99 which allows for unlimited lifetime views. The platform is sleek, super easy to navigate and in under 2 minutes you can be streaming every episode. The platform is also compatible with RoKu, Chromecast and Apple TV.

In addition to 6 episodes, there is also bonus content, including a 12 minute mini documentary shot back in 2012, a montage of Adam's top 5 tornadoes and more!

The team hopes that with a successful series launch, a budget can be established to shoot a second season. They want to expand the series to include more chasers - who chase for a variety of reasons such as guiding tours, photography and scientific research. There are so many aspects to storm chasing that need to be shared. It is more than just an adrenaline junkie thrill ride. Storm chasers are out there serving many purposes - and Season of the Storm wishes to showcase them all!

Where can I access the platform?

http://ondemand.seasonofthestorm.com/ is the direct link to the watch platform.

www.seasonofthestorm.com is the official website of the series.
facebook.com/seasonofthestorm is the official facebook page.
The series is also officially listed on Imdb

A majority of the series was shot in 2016, and includes dramatic tornado video from Texas, Kansas and Illinois. The series is considered to be family friendly, with only a few instances of mild adult language throughout the entire production.
