(6:30PM Monday - 8/8/22) After the months of May and June were dry across much of the state, July and August have featured a much more active/wet weather pattern. This pattern has featured a few notable heavy rain/flooding events across portions of the state, at the end of July and beginning of August.
Notable Events: -July 26-28th: St. Louis Metro & Southern Illinois. This event brought a large corridor of 2-6" rainfall totals and some flooding across Southern Illinois, with a localized area of 6-12" rainfall totals and significant flooding across the St. Louis metro area. -August 1-2nd: Central and Southeastern Illinois. This event brought a corridor of 1-4" rainfall totals and some flooding across portions of Central and Southeastern Illinois, with a localized area of 6-12" rainfall totals and significant flooding across portions of Southeastern Illinois. -August 3-4th: Eastern & Southwestern Illinois. -August 6-8th: Northern Illinois. This event brought a large corridor of 1-4" rainfall totals and some flooding across Northern Illinois, with a localized area of 6-12" rainfall totals and significant flooding across portions of Northwestern Illinois.
