(12:30PM - 4/22/19) Update regarding the low end severe weather potential this afternoon into early tonight across Northern Illinois... In the wake of scattered showers and isolated t'storms this morning across portions of Northwest and Western Illinois, clearing and warming has occurred. As the main storm system approaches from the west, scattered showers and t'storms will develop across Eastern Iowa, Southwest Wisconsin and Northwest Illinois this afternoon. This activity will then sweep eastward across the rest of Northern Illinois this evening into early tonight, weakening with time. The environment in place will feature low instability, meager moisture and decent shear...thus only an isolated to widely scattered strong to severe threat will exist. Wind and hail will be the main threats, though an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out. Below is updated TAM severe forecast for this event. JP
