(11:30AM - 8/9/20) A disturbance is expected to move through the region on Monday, bringing a low end threat for severe t'storms to much of the state.
Summary... A few areas of isolated to scattered showers and t'storms may be ongoing Monday morning across portions of the state. Some of this activity will likely fester, while other portions weaken. Some clearing and destabilization will occur across portions of the state on Monday. Additional new scattered showers and t'storms are expected to develop across portions of Missouri, Iowa, Western and Northern Illinois and Wisconsin during the afternoon. This new activity, in the form of several clusters/lines, will push east-southeast across the state, Monday afternoon into Monday night. An environment in place will feature moderate instability, high moisture, good shear and good forcing. Upwards of a minimal severe t'storm threat is expected across much of the state, with damaging winds and large hail being the main threats. Trends are being monitored for the potential need to upgrade severe t'storm probabilities across portions of the state in future updates.
