(9:30PM - 8/9/20) A disturbance is expected to move through the region on Monday, bringing a low end threat for severe t'storms to much of the state.
Summary... A few areas of isolated to scattered showers and t'storms may be ongoing Monday morning across portions of Eastern Illinois, on into Indiana. A good deal of clearing and destabilization will occur across portions of the state on Monday. Areas of showers and t'storms that will have developed Sunday night across Nebraska, South Dakota, Minnesota and Iowa will be pushing towards the state by late Monday morning and early Monday afternoon. Additionally, new scattered showers and t'storms are expected to develop across portions of Missouri, Iowa, Western and Northern Illinois and Wisconsin during the afternoon. All of this activity, in the form of clusters/lines, will push east-southeast across the state, Monday afternoon into Monday night. An environment in place will feature moderate instability, high moisture, good shear and good forcing. Upwards of a minimal severe t'storm threat is expected across much of the state, with damaging winds and large hail being the main threats. It is looking increasingly possible that portions of the state will need an upgrade is severe t'storm probabilities in a future update.
