(9:45PM Sun, Feb 26th 2023) Sunday night update regarding a storm system that will move through the region tonight through Monday, bringing the potential for severe t'storms and high winds to portions of the state. With this update we have increased severe t'storm probabilities across the heart of the state, while little to no change was needed with the high wind forecast.
Timing & Location... •Severe T'Storm Risk: Early Monday morning - Late Monday morning, Feb 27th: Central & Southern Illinois. •High Winds: Early Monday morning - Late Monday evening , Feb 27th: Much of Illinois. Impacts... •A level 1 to 2 severe t'storm risk is in place across Central and Southern Illinois, from early Monday morning through late Monday morning. Isolated to widely severe t'storms will be possible, posing a risk of damaging winds, hail and an isolated tornado. •Periods of high winds are expected across much of the state, early Monday morning through late Monday evening. Wind gusts ranging from 35-60MPH are expected across the state.
