(11:45AM Monday - 6/13/22) As multiple disturbances move through the region today, areas of of showers and t'storms may develop and impact portions of the state. Given environmental conditions expected to be in place, a severe t'storm risk would be possible with some of this activity across Northern and Eastern Illinois. It should be noted that this is a highly conditional setup that will be dependent on whether or not showers and t'storms develop. If development occurs, severe t'storms would be likely. If development does not occur, severe t'storms will be unlikely.
With this update we had downgraded far Northeast Illinois from a level 3 severe t'storm risk to a level 2 severe t'storm risk. The threat for a large complex of severe t'storms to traverse the area is now unlikely, and thus any remaining threat will be conditional and isolated. Location... -Northern and Eastern Illinois. Timing... -This afternoon through early tonight. Impacts... -A level 1 to 2 severe t'storm risk is in place across Northern and Eastern Illinois, this afternoon through early tonight. -This is a conditional severe t'storm risk for today, dependent on the development of activity. -Isolated to widely scattered severe t'storms will be possible, posing a risk of damaging winds, large hail and isolated tornadoes.
