A weak and fast moving disturbance moving through the region today and tonight will bring a periods of snow, and minor/nuisance accumulation to a large portion of the state. Model guidance continues to be in decent agreement regarding this event as well as current observations supporting. Thus, little to no change was needed for this forecast update.

Forecast...
​Areas of snow have already been pushing across portions of Northern and Central Illinois this morning, with even some accumulation having occurred. Additional areas of snow will spread across a large portion of the state, through early Tuesday morning. Due to the associated disturbance being fast moving, weak and moisture starved...This will remain a minor/nuisance event. With cold temperatures in place, snow will be of a high ratio/fluffy variety.

​What's Expected...
Final snowfall totals upwards of 1-3" are expected across a large portion of the state. Locally higher amounts will be possible across portions of Southern Illinois and portions of Northern Illinois, where two distinct more organized/heavier snows are expected.
