A storm system moving through the region today into Tuesday will bring a period of high winds to the state, through Tuesday morning. High winds aloft, characterized by a low level jet of 50-70KT, will develop. Mixing depths will support wind gusts of 30-50MPH across much of Northern and Central Illinois, through Tuesday morning. The highest period of winds will be this afternoon and evening, though breezy conditions will continue through Tuesday morning.
