Mon-Tue, Oct 28-29th Snow Event Update #2

(10:45PM - 10/27/19) The first snow of the season for continues to look on track for portions of the state, Monday night through early Tuesday morning.

Model guidance continues to be in fairly good agreement regarding this event, with little to change at this time.. A weak and fast moving storm system is expected to move through the region on Monday and Tuesday. An area of rain will overspread the state Monday evening into Monday night. As colder air filters in, this rain will turn to snow across portions of far Western, Northwest and far Northern Illinois Monday night. Snow will then continue across these areas into early Tuesday morning. While this will not be a significant snow, it will be the first snowfall of the season for affected areas. Final snow accumulations will be on the light side, ranging from a dusting to upwards of 1-3" for affected areas. ​
