(7:30PM - 10/27/19) The first snow of the season is expected tonight for portions of the state.
A weak and fast moving storm system will be moving through the region tonight. An area of rain will overspread Northern and Central Illinois tonight. As colder air filters in, this rain will turn to snow across portions of far Western, Northwest and far Northern Illinois tonight. Snow will then continue across these areas into early Tuesday morning. While this will not be a significant snow, it will be the first snowfall of the season for affected areas. Final snow accumulations will be on the light side, ranging from a dusting to upwards of 1-3" for affected areas. Below is the TAM snowfall forecast for this event.
