(11:45AM Tue, April 4th 2023) Tuesday morning update on a storm system that will move through the region through Wednesday, bringing a few rounds of severe t'storms to the state. With this update we have increased severe t'storm probabilities to a level 4 risk across portions of Northern and Western Illinois, for today/tonight.
Timing & Location... •Today midday - Wednesday midday, April 4-5th: Much of Illinois. Impacts... •A level 2 to 4 severe t'storm risk is in place all of Illinois, from today midday through Wednesday midday. Widely scattered to numerous severe t'storms are expected across the state, posing a risk of large hail, damaging winds and a few tornadoes. •Environmental conditions will be supportive of the possibility of a few strong or long track tornadoes, occurrences of damaging winds gusts 75MPH+/corridors of wind damage and occurrences of large hail to 2"+.
