(11:15AM - 5/28/19) Another storm system pushing across the region is bringing another multi-day period of severe weather potential to portions of the state Monday through Wednesday.
On Monday, areas of showers and t'storms moved across portions of Northern and Central Illinois during the morning into early afternoon. In the wake of this activity, scattered shower and t'storm development occurred, with a numerous storms being severe, across much of Northern and portions of Central Illinois. All modes of severe weather occurred, including some tornadoes. This morning through tonight... Areas of scattered showers and t'storms will move across portions of Northern and Central Illinois late this morning and into this afternoon. Further development, regeneration and strengthening of this activity may occur across Central Illinois, where a front is located today...With activity will have better access to warm, moist and unstable air. An environment in place featuring moderate instability, good to great moisture and good shear will be in place. This environment will help support up to a scattered severe t’storm threat across portions of Central Illinois during the afternoon into evening. Wind and hail will be the main threats, though an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out. A large complex of showers and t’storms from activity occurring across states to the west will also push into Northwest and Western Illinois this evening, and eventually across much of the state tonight. An environment in place featuring moderate instability, good to great moisture and good shear will be in place. This environment will help support an isolated to scattered severe t’storm threat across a good portion of the state this evening into tonight. Wind and hail will be the main threats.

Isolated to scattered shower and t'storms will be ongoing across a good portions of the state Wednesday morning into early afternoon. Development of an isolated shower and t'storm will also be possible in the vicinity of a front across Central Illinois during the afternoon and evening. An environment in place featuring low to moderate instability, good moisture and good shear will be in place. This environment will help support an isolated severe t’storm threat across portions of Central Illinois during the afternoon and evening. Wind and hail will be the main threats. Additional periods of showers and t’storms from activity occurring across states to the west will also push across much of the state Wednesday evening into night. An environment in place featuring low to moderate instability, good moisture and good shear will be in place. This environment will help support an isolated severe t’storm threat across much of the state Wednesday evening into night.
