(1:30PM - 12/31/19) Another year is in the books, and we now look forward to the new year that is upon us. Running a bit late with this forecast due to the snow event last night and into this morning, but alas here it is...
For the rest of today and tonight... Some breaks in the cloud deck are starting to occur across Northwest and Western Illinois. Across far Southern Illinois, skies have been mostly clear all day. Expect gradually clearing skies over the entire state this evening and overnight. Winds are also expected to continue to gradually diminish across the state into this evening. Low temperatures tonight will range from the upper 10's to mid 20's across Northern Illinois, to the mid 20's to low 30's across Central Illinois, and the upper 20's to low 30's across Southern Illinois.
Midnight...
Expect partly cloudy skies for much of the state, with temperatures ranging from the low-mid 20's across Northern Illinois, to the upper 20's to low 30's across Central and Southern Illinois. New Years Day... The return to winter-like conditions will have been brief, with a quick rebounding warm up to more mild temperatures for much of the state expected on Wednesday. Under partly cloudy to clear skies, high temperatures will range from the upper 30's to mid 40's across Northern Illinois, to the mid 40's to low 50's across Central and Southern Illinois.
