*Potential* Weekend Snow Event? Sat, April 27th

(1:45PM - 4/25/19) Yes...It is April 25th No...You're not losing your ability to read... Another late season snow event is once again possible across portions of the state this weekend, as a storm system pushes through the region.

We're less than two days away from this storm system impacting the state, and there are many things known and others still not known. Lets start off with what we know... A storm system will impact the state Saturday morning through night. This system will bring rain and t'storms to Central and Southern Illinois. Further north is where the focus is with this one, across Northern Illinois. Rain will be likely what is seen for everyone south of I-80 across Northern Illinois. 

​Now for where some questions still exist... For areas between the Illinois/Wisconsin border on down to around I-80 is where the biggest question is. Most model guidance has at least some snowfall accumulation across this area, but there is not a ton of agreement on how much and were yet, except for the fact the best chance for any accumulation in any scenario will be closer to the Illinois/Wisconsin border. Where ever the main axis of snow sets up; conditions will be favorable for heavy snow, high snowfall rates and thundersnow. Given the overall spread in snowfall axis placement and amounts, will not get too specific with amounts for now...and only mention the *potential* for upwards of a couple to several inches of snow across portions of Northern Illinois, with areas closer to the Illinois/Wisconsin border being at greatest risk.
