(9:45PM - 4/25/19) Another late season snow event continues to look likely for portions of the state this weekend...
The main area of focus for this event will be across Northern Illinois, Saturday morning into night. Model guidance is coming into better agreement showing the heaviest axis of snowfall accumulations setting up across Southern Wisconsin, with a gradient of snowfall totals across Northern Illinois. Highest accumulations will be near the Illinois/Wisconsin border, with amounts tapering to just a dusting north of I-80. Closer to the heaviest axis of snow, near the Illinois/Wisconsin border...Conditions will be favorable for heavy snow, high snowfall rates and thundersnow. Below is our first TAM snowfall forecast for this event.
