(11:45AM - 2/6/21) A fast moving storm system is moving through the region today, bringing a minor/nuisance accumulating snowfall to a large portion of the state.

A storm system is moving through the region today, and will bring a period of snow and minor/nuisance accumulation to a large portion of the state. Only minor changes were needed with this update, as the previous forecast is generally on track.

​Forecast...
​A area of snow has begun to push into Northwest Illinois/Quad Cities area at this midday hour. This area of snow will spread across Northern and Central Illinois, through early tonight. Across Southern Illinois, a transition zone will set up, between rain and snow. With cold air in place, the snow will be of the high ratio/fluffy variety.

​What's Expected...
Final snowfall totals upwards of 1-3" is expected across a large portion of the state, with amounts upwards of 2-5" into far Western Illinois.
