Sat, June 1st Severe Weather Threat

​(9:45PM - 6/1/19) A fast moving disturbance through the region in a northwest flow pattern, will bring a severe t'storm potential to portions of the state on Saturday.

Saturday morning through Saturday night...
Areas of isolated to scattered showers and t'storms will be ongoing Saturday morning across portions of Northern and Central Illinois. Some of this early activity may linger into early Saturday afternoon across far Northeast and Eastern Illinois. In the wake of early activity, some clearing and destabilization will occur. During the afternoon, an environment will be in place featuring low to moderate instability, decent to good moisture and decent to good shear. Additional scattered shower and t'storm develop is expected in the vicinity of a cold front expected to push southeastward across Northern Illinois during the afternoon. This activity will then sweep southeastward across much of the state Saturday evening into Saturday night. Given the aforementioned environment expected to be in place, and isolated to widely scattered severe t'storm threat will be likely across Northern and Central Illinois during the afternoon and evening, then Central and Southern Illinois Saturday evening into night. Wind and hail will be the main threats.
