(11:30AM - 6/20/20) A storm system moving through the region will bring the chance for severe t'storms to the state, today into tonight.
Synopsis... A storm system will be moving through the region today. Isolated to scattered showers and t'storms have been ongoing this morning across portions of Northern and Central Illinois. Some of this activity may persist into the afternoon, with the potential for re-intensification across Northern and Central Illinois. Additionally, new scattered showers and t'storms will develop along and ahead of an advancing "cold" front moving through the region. Both previous re-generated morning activity and new afternoon development will push across much of the state in the form of several clusters/lines, this afternoon through tonight. The environment expected to be in place will feature low instability, decent moisture, marginal shear and marginal forcing. This will lead to a minimal severe t'storm threat across much of the state, with large hail and damaging winds being the main threats. Below is the severe t'storm forecast for this event.
