(3:15AM - 2/17/19) Update regarding the long duration snow event ongoing and expected to continue across portions of the state...
Snow has spread across portions of Northwest, Western and Central Illinois tonight. This activity will continue to spread across the remainder of Northern and Central Illinois into the morning. Snow will then continue in periods, mostly light to moderate intensity, across all of Northern and portions of Central Illinois into Monday morning, before finally diminishing. Lake enhancement is also likely across Northeast Illinois, for counties near Lake Michigan. This may enhance totals a bit for these areas.
Final snowfall totals will range from 3-6" across Northern Illinois, with most locations ending up on the lower to middle side of that range. Across Central Illinois up to 1-3" is likely.
Below is our updated TAM snowfall forecast for this event.
