(9:30PM - 2/20/19) Post storm wrap up regarding the recent Sat-Mon, Feb. 16-18th Snow Event that affected Northern and Central Illinois...
This storm produced a long duration snow event, with two heavier periods of snow...One across Northern Saturday night into Sunday morning, and a second across Northern Illinois Sunday late afternoon into early night. Moderate to heavy snow and snowfall rates up to 1" per hour was seen during these heavier periods, otherwise this was a long duration light snow event overall. Final snowfall totals range from a dusting to 2" across portions of Central Illinois, to 3-6" across much of Northern Illinois. Locally higher amounts were seen across Northern Illinois as well, especially across Northeast Illinois near Lake Michigan, where lake enhancement occurred.
