A weak and fast moving storm system will move from the Northern Plains on Saturday, through the Midwest Saturday night, and into the Ohio Valley on Sunday. This storm system will bring a period of accumulating snow across portions of Northern and Central Illinois, Saturday night through Sunday morning.

An area of snow will spread into Northwest Illinois early Saturday night, eventually spreading across other portions of Northern and Central Illinois Saturday night. Snow will be likely across Northern and portions of Central Illinois for a several our period of time Saturday night, before ending Sunday morning. Snow intensity will generally vary from light to moderate for the duration of this event, with snowfall rates up to or in excess of 0.5" per hour at times.

Snowfall totals upwards of 1-3" are expected across much of Northern and portions of Central Illinois with this event.
