(12:00PM - 3/2/19) Morning update on the snow event that is expected to impact portions of the state tonight into Sunday evening...
Model guidance continues to be in great agreement regarding the track of this storm system, as well as with the snow axis and amounts. After trending much weaker and further south with this system over the past day or so, model guidance has held with that idea as we approach the event...thus being the likely final outcome.
Snow will push into portions of Western and Southwest Illinois later tonight and very early Sunday morning, quickly spreading across portions of Central and much of Southern Illinois. Snow will then continue in varying intensity through late Sunday afternoon, before ending from west to east Sunday by early evening.
Periods of moderate to heavy snow and 1" per hour snowfall rates will be possible at times. Light snowfall accumulations will be widespread across Central and Southern Illinois. Below is our updated TAM snowfall forecast for this event.
