Severe T'storms Approaching St. Louis Area And Southwest Illinois *Short Term Update*

(6:45PM - 1/10/20) As expected, severe t'storms are making their approach on Southern Illinois this evening. At this time a small line of thunderstorms is pushing northeastward across Western Missouri, and will be entering the St. Louis area and Southwest Illinois shortly. These t'storms have required the issuance of severe t'storm and tornado warnings. Severe threat will continue with this activity as it pushes into the northern St. Louis area and Southwest Illinois. Damaging winds will be the main threat, though and isolated tornado cannot be ruled out, along with small hail.

The severe threat with this activity will wane with time with eastward extent into the state. Additional severe t'storms will be possible across Southern Illinois tonight, which may require additional short term updates.
