(12:30PM - 4/14/19) A snowstorm, major by April standards, continues to affect portions of the state at this time...
An area of moderate to heavy snow is ongoing across portions of Northern and Central Illinois at this time. This area of snow will continue for several more hours, before ending from west to east later in the afternoon and evening. Widespread snowfall accumulations of 3-8" have already occurred, with additional accumulations likely. Thundersnow has also occurred across several areas, with this potential continuing as well. An axis of 4-10" of final snowfall accumulation is likely across portions of Northern and Central Illinois. These amounts will be major by April standards, and potentially record breaking for some areas.
